When long ago
That fruit was taken from The Tree
A veil was laid upon our eyes
That darkened all we see
Through the veil we see the world
Through the darker shades of shame
Through shades of insecurity
The purpose of veil
Was to blind us to the sight
That God is ever near
But the veil is fastened tight
By the duel clasps of pride and fear
Making day as night
God’s Law is meant to lift the veil
To lead us off the darker trail
God’s Law is meant to wet our thirst
For the Redeemer of the cursed
The fruit that was eaten from The Tree
Left a stain upon our soul
That while veiled
We are always blind to see
